  • Abstract

Although the incidence of BE and esophageal adenocarcinoma (EAC)
is higher in men, precise estimates of BE prevalence (screening) and progression rates from
BE to EAC (surveillance) are not known. Our aim was to perform a systematic review
and meta-analysis of the published literature to determine the prevalence and neoplastic
progression rates of BE in women.
